Ladders - Unfortunately, Towers never had a good ranking system. Although ladders in other Yahoo! games is considered where the top players go, Towers Ladders doesn't anymore. Syn_envy says, "Ladders tests your gaming endurance more than your gaming skill."

Partnered Games - Whoa, everything changes for partnered games and there's too much new strategy, ratings, mechanics to list! Yahoo!'s get sent to multiple people so do more! I don't play partnered games very much. If anyone would like to write a guide on partnered games, I'd love to see it!

Fast Games - Want to avoid the slow congratulations message? Press demo twice or stand then sit again. You can start a new game right away instead of wasting a valuable 15 sec. watching words pass by. More time for towers!

Preventing Hacking - Hate those people who somehow get some of your info or use hacking programs? There are two ways to help protect your nick. One, get a personal firewall. This will alert you any time an unregistered IP is checking your computer. Two, you can register any of your nicks as the "child" of another one of your unused nicks. It's part of the parental protection Yahoo! has in place, but also, it can allow you to retrieve the password at any given time for any nick that is considered a "child" under your "parent" name.

Keyboard reaction time problems - If it seems like your keyboard reaction time isn't the same as what happens on the screen, you may either need more RAM or you can go to Control Panels, then Keyboard. Under the tab, try adjusting the repeat rate and the delay.

Sound - Activating the sound can lag the game more. Hopefully, no one ever turns on this fruity sound scheme. (I pray for those of you who do hehe).

Cheating - Yes, you can lose games on purpose or partner with a pre-made low nick for a high rating/rung (like any Yahoo! game). I've never understood cheating and don't condone it in anyway. I'm not sure why people enjoy creating fake high ratings and pretend they're actually earned, skillful or respected. However, I do know the satisfaction is shallow and most likely the person needs to achieve some real dignity. For whatever reason a person cheats, I hope it fulfills their desires, because the rest of the community frowns upon and has no tolerance for such childish behavior.

Social Part of Towers - Towers is not all game, it's socialization too. Don't ruin it for others!

Clans - Could have been successful but didn't. Towers has some inherent problems with clans (false nicks) and it's very difficult to properly organize clan wars.

Luck - Yes, I'll say it again… Towers has a large portion of luck involved. So remember, when winning or losing, remember the game outcome wasn't totally defined by skill.

Getting out of the Slump! - No matter if you win or lose, remember to improve. The person you're playing shouldn't affect the game. I turn on trance and I disregard smack or losses. Keep the psychological aspect out of your playing ability and maybe stay away from competition for a while.
