Yui Hongou
Yui is the Seiryuu no miko, or the Maiden of Seiryuu.
She is a lot smarter, and thinks more logically than Miaka.
She wears her hair short like a boy, but leaves it long later.
Yui and Miaka were the best of friends ever since they were kids.
Unfortunately, courtesy to Nakago, Yui turned against Miaka,
when Miaka failed to help Yui.
When Miaka re-entered the book,
whatever happened to her, happened to Yui. And when Miaka came out
of the book again, Yui was absorbed back in.
Yui found herself in a lane, looking for Miaka. Some men came
and attempted to rape her. Yui called out to Miaka for help.
Unfortunately, Miaka had already taken off her uniform,
the very thing that had linked the two friends, and therefore could not
hear her friend's plea for help.
Nakago had come along and found Yui, who had fainted. He killed
the men before they could do anything to Yui. However, he let her
believe that she was raped, and that Miaka had caused it. He
played on her hatred.
Thankfully, at the very end, Yui realised her mistake,
and that Nakago had pre-planned everything, just to obtain
his sole wish -- To become a god and take revenge on the
people who had caused him so much pain.
