[ w h o . a m . i . ? ]This should be simple enough to answer [or so I think]. Easy enough to say that I am a girl who lives in Downey, CA. I am 3/4 Japanese and 1/4 Peruvian, even though I am more Japanese than Peruvian I end up speaking Spanish instead of Japanese. [I sort of wish I knew how to speak Japanese, it would just make life more interesting...don't you think?] I am currently 21 years of age and I attend Cal State University, of Long Beach [CSULB for short]. At that University, I am Liberal Studies major with a concentration in Mathematics [in English terms, that means that I am studying to be a teacher whose strong point will be in Math, why they couldn't just name the major "Education" is beyond me...and most people tend to relate "Liberal Studies" with "Liberal Arts" which is something completely different...but people will be people]. I think I'll be graduating from there at the end of the Fall 2002 term [wish me tons of luck people so that will actually happen]. Of course, like most other college students [unless you're one of those lucky ones] I go to school and I also work. I work over at Expeditors International which deals with imports/exports/customs [that type of stuff]. I've been working there since the end of May 2000, so I guess you could say I've been working there for a while now. [ m i . f a m i l i a ]Yes, I have a family. Not my "own" family, but the family that I was born into. I was born to Nory and Francisco [in other words...mommy and daddy]. Before me though, it was my older sister Lizbeth. She ended up dying a month after she was born because her heart had a small hole in it [when i have kids, I plan to name one of my daughter's after her...I wish I could have met her, for I know my life would have been different to have someone older to look up to and share my confidences with]. Almost two years after I was born, my younger brother, Luis, came along. Well, Yume isn't really my actual name [Yume in Japanese means dream]. My actual name is Claudia [my dad picked it out] while my middle name is Patricia [my mom picked it out]. In addition to my immediate family, there's the family that I feel the closest to. Those are my cousins on my mom's side of the family. Patty, Susana [nickname: Shanny] and Luis [nickname: Coki]. So why do I feel closest to them? The answer to that will probably be that I have known them the longest in my life and I am used to having them around. Patty and Shanny are both married now and they both have kids. Patty has Karen [7 yrs old] and Joanna [4 yrs old], while Shanny has Luis [12 yrs old], Didier [9 yrs old] and Katherine [7 yrs old]. Those wonderful rascals are my lovely nieces and nephews. What about Coki? Well, he's currently in New Jersey and I haven't seen him in about 2 yrs, but that doesn't really matter to me, whenever we get to talk on the phone or see one another, it's almost as if we were never that far apart. On to some more family. In addition to living at home with my parents and brother, my grandma and my two uncles also live with us. [my grandma and I sort of get along, but not as well as we used to before...I'm kind of sad about that, but there's nothing I can really do to change the circumstances] This family is from my dad's side. My dad is actually the oldest out of four. My grandma and grandpa [may he rest in peace...miss him tons] had four boys. After my dad is my uncle Carlos [don't really get on too well with that one], then Jimmy [he's my favorite uncle, and the one I call the "good" uncle] and last is my uncle Luchi [his actual name is Luis, but I've always known him by Luchi. In addition, he now wants us to call him "Albert." Another note, he's the uncle I like to called the "evil" uncle. He tends to only think of himself instead of others].
