Looks like the story and characters for Star Ocean the Second Story are far more popular than the original, even long after the game was first released in 1998. Coming out for Game Boy Color June 28, 2001, Star Ocean Blue Sphere apparently has all the components of the Playstation version: all the characters, the skill point/skill system, the techniques and spells... Kyah!!! All that's missing are all those voice clips (who knows? they may be able to sneak in a few).

The story is that Opera and Ernest's spaceship went down, and everyone but Crawd and Rena are out searching for her. This time around, rather than a four-member party system, you'll only get to work with three characters at a time. And they don't get to all rush out at once in battle, for obvious reasons, but instead it's like the traditional RPG of one turn at a time. Still, this is a great little game to tote around when you get bored or stuck in a long line... Now if they'll only rerelease the original Star Ocean, and make a portable Arc the Lad (ufufufu.... =++= )

I don't follow the American market, so I don't know if this is hitting US shores (sorry to all of you who would like this game).

Okay!!! I've played it, and I've gotten close to the end, so here's the review, with all the info you need =^^= Read the review

Vol.3 of the Shounen GanGan Comic CD collection was released 3-23-2001, featuring Dias in "Yakusoku no Chiisana-Hitomi" (Promise of the Small Eyes). All of the Comic CD collections use the original seiyuu, so you'll hear Ryou Horigawa as Dias, rather than the new seiyuu, Takehito Koyasu (I'm torn between the two). Also out is the picture postcard book, released 3-30-2001.

GanGan Powered, Spring 2001 features Star Ocean, Magic Master, Mythical Detective Loki, Pop Art, etc. There's also info about the two new GanGan anime series: Star Ocean Second Story and Jungle ha Itsumo Hare-nochi Guu. But if you were lucky enough to get ahold of this volume, you'll also get a set of 5 postcards: Spiral ~Suiri no Kizuna~, Mamotte Shugogetten!, Shinsengumi-Imon PEACE MAKER, Star Ocean Second Story, and Mythical Detective Loki.

Nice illustration of Crawd, huh? It's from the special fold-out in Shounen GanGan 4-01, featuring the new anime series. The entire picture also has Ernest, Leon, Chisato, and Rena, obviously illustrated by Azuma =^^= Unya~ It's just a nice image (you can see a small image of the entire picture by clicking on the Anime Images link below).
