In 2004,
Michael Casey was inspired by God to begin looking for a property where cash
crops could be produced to help circumvent the expenses of YWAM NHI. At the same
time the idea was also formulated to have a separate location where the girls
who were unable to go to school would be able to learn some skills and
livelihood. The two joined together with the purchase of “The Source of
Progress” form in Patpat, Malaybalay on March 22, 2006 right away the land was
prepared for farming and some livestock. Then in June, construction began for
the new center. October 21, 2006 was the Grand Opening for the new center. It
is hoped that the staff and girls will be able to occupy the center by mid
November 2006. The facility can house twenty four girls & live in staff. As
envisioned the girls will be able to learn farming skills, sewing, baking, hair
cutting, and cosmetology skills. .
