	In Indian legends, the ghost of a young girl that inhabited mountains. She descended from her abode in the mountain at night to sing and dance in settlements. Her voice and shadow were omens of death and disease, and she inflicts disease upon human children. Protection against her would be wearing a bright-red thread around the neck.
