It is the fabled land of ancient travellers.Snow capped
mountain peaks, its vast glaciers and its awe-inspiring
gorges make it a valley unique to itself.Hunza is easily
accessible from Gilgit by road. For the first time I have
designed this unique tour to offer a close in-sight to
the life, culture, customs and traditions of the friendly
Hunzokuts as well as to watch the generosity of nature.
It includes a visitto Altit and Baltit Forts, excursions
to the adjoining serene valleys, walk in the village,
folk music and dance, mysterious Shaman dance, an unusual ,folk lunch,
at a local house or a dinner at the roof of Baltit Fort and the ,King
of the games’,thrilling polo match at Gilgit. These unique features
make the trip a memory of lifetime.A three days trip to the base of
Rakaposhi can be added to this unique experience.Hunza has been ruled
by the same family known as Mirs of Hunza for 960 years. Hunzakuts
are believed to be the descendents of five wandering soldiers of Alexander
the Great. The people of Hunza speak Brushuski, an aboriginal language.
This preincely state retained its isolated independence for a long time
in the remote part of the areas which now from the Northern Areas of
Pakistan adjoining the Sinkiang Autonomous Region of China.During early
nineteenth century, Hunza resented Kashmir's attempts to gain control and
its rulers periodically expelled Kashmir garrisons, threatended Gilgit,
and politicked with the rulers of Kashgar to the north where the Russians
were gaining influence. Fearing Russians infiltration into their northern
frontiers, the British took over direct political control at Gilgit in
1889. Incesant fratricidal intrigues in Hunza and Nagar made the areas
doubly insecure. This, coupled with the Mir of Hunza's consistent
intransigence induced the British to march on Hunza in December 1891,
where they fought a decisive battle at Nilit, 60 km beyond Diaynor Bridge.
After this the British garrisoned Aliabad until 1897 when Hunza became a
princely state protected by the Government of British India. After the
Pakistan was created in 1947, the people of Hunza also gained liberation
and the princely state was merged in Pakistan.more..

60 Km long Batura Glacier, one of the longest glaciers, nestled between some of the beautiful high mountain of the world. Most of the trek is easy stroll along the flower filled ablation valley between the lateral moraine and the mountain and includes a crossing of glacier. As we pass through the summer pastures of the people of Passu, this is one of the few treks which offer an opportunity to see the life of Wakhis of Upper Hunza as well as awe-inspiring views of Ultar (7388 meters), Passu Peak (7478 meters), Karon Koh (7200 meters) and the splendid Batura Group (7500-7785 meters)
