Ooh! New stuff!
Well, for my audiance of zero people, I'll do anything! :p

Blown up Avatar
Done for one of the most interesting message boards I've ever been on, and in record time too. March 09, 2004

Sketchy animation plots.
For the same board, I wanted to make an animated Avatar. These were the first two story board attempts at it, and, although it's probably hard as all hell to see, I thought they turned out pretty well.
Jan 29 & 30, 2004

B4
Non-human humanoid male with a big ole cyber thingie on his left arm, and some facial expressions.
Jan 19, 2004

B3
Female non-human humanoid with obligatory gown.

Alien life form?
Ever look at an orange and wonder what it might look like if it was roughly four hundred feet tall, with long spindly legs, a mouth near the bottom, and a pair of antennas?
Really? Wow. You're almost as weird as me!
March 24, 2002

Reptilian centaurs.
A semi-companion to the above, the Drakish (real name pending) were aliens I developed a while back for an RPG campaign that never got off the ground. Fulfilling the ancient sterotype of Omish Native Americans in Space, they have little use for technology, instead focusing on being One with their surroundings and developing themselves.
Reguardless, I still think they're a neat concept, but I need to work on 'em.
March 24, 2003

Psychic Catapult
And here, we have an... uh... large headed, vaugely human... um... thingie... with what appear to be two large fleshy cannons growing from his... her? its chest. And it seems to be floating for some reason.
March 24, 2003

Space Whale?
I'd like to say I know what this is, but frankly, I really don't. I want to say it's a living troop transport, but I really don't know. It sure is big, though. Well, if I drew it to scale...
March 24, 2003

Amphibious Phoenix?
I was feeling kinda creative, so I took the traditional Phoenix pose (bird's head raised, wings extended) and played with it. This particular... uh... thingee was a horrible scan, but that's what happens if you aren't willing to screw up your book. The sole effect was added via Photoshop, but this guy was mixed media: Pens, Pencils, and Markers.
Feb 4, 2003

Remnant
In Warhammer 40k, there's a variation on cyborgs called a servitor. These beings are mindless, essentially flesh and steel robots, usually created from some hopelessly corrupted (in the eyes of the government, anyway) people.
The Remnants are similar in design and purpose, but with far more character. Instead of being simply drones, these things are more along the line of crazed puppets.
Well, that's what I was trying for, anyway.
Dec 11, 2001

Semi-Comic transformation
And here we have another character sprouting wings for no readily appearant reason. I was really proud of this one. It looked like I'd really nailed the sensation of pain. And then I saw Akira, and realized where I got the actual stances from. Explative.
Dec 11, 2001

Semi-Comic fight scene
After having read up a bit on comics as an art form (Sequential Art, don'tcha know) and studied some basic tips for drawing action, I tried my hand with this. I like it, kinda. Madran looks a bit too young in this sketch, and predicting where the hair would go was so tourtured...
Dec 11, 2001

Sara Frostbite
See? I can too draw women. And someday, I'll even finish her.
Dec 11, 2001

Hellfire Guard
Ever wonder what a cybernetic sheath for an arm eternally engulfed in plasma would look like? Me neither, but here's an organic one.
Dec 11, 2001

Cyborg
Before there was the demon, there was this guy. And he looked weird. And kinda in color. But then I tried to draw him again, and couldn't get Photoshop to give up the right shade...
Dec 11, 2001

Yet another Demon
Once again, I play around with a personal favorite character of mine. Right now, I'm really just working on non-white light sources, and creating the illusion of depth. Quite tricky, when there's no real background. Still...
Sept 17, 2001

Paladin
It may seem odd, but the fact that Diablo II's Paladins are African just seems weird to me. I mean, if anyone should be black, it would be the Amazons. They come from a tropical climate, there's constant sunshine... but, I'm not Blizzard.
April 30, 2001

Warped Figures
More experiments in exagerating physical characteristics. That, and the little guy supposed to have knife blades sticking out at every joint... Actually, what I could use help on here is torso muscles. While mini-me is hardly buff, the walking tree is supposed to be built.
April 30, 2001

Comic (kinda)
More experimenting in pose, perspective... I would've liked to do this one from behind Zalabar's shoulder, but it just never turned out...
April 30, 2001

Torn Soul
Ah... good ole' Torn Soul. Dude had the roughest ride of anything I made, and took it in stride. The picture is supposed to depict a torn cloak supported by an invisable form. The torn strips of cloth covering where the mouth should be were a royal pain to do, and I'm still not all that proud of them.
I just don't feel like I really managed to capture his 'never surrender' spirit.
April 30, 2001

Crouching in Power Armor
Ugh... that stupid pose... This figure is supposed to be in a crouch, about to pounce, but for some reason I had that hand raised up... The armor is supposed to look metalic, but pounded up from the inside. Actually, it should look more like a banged up restraint than anything else...
April 30, 2001

Broken Restraint
These two were actually on the same page in my scetch book. Essentially, they're supposed to be the same figure. Monsteriously buff, shattered metal, bones jutting from the skin, that's what I wanted to do here.
Didn't quite work out, but this was still one of my better pieces at the time.
April 30, 2001

CyberAngel
Ugh... the thumbs again, and those smooth legs... I really need to work on my muscleature.
And the dots on the side are actually from the page. Sorry, but I was in a hurry.
April 30, 2001

Head and Cyborg with a Kid
I suppose color would help this one more than anything... the head is supposed to look ancient, but still alive. The Cyborg at the bottom is supposed to have a metalic hue, bluish metal if my Bic doesn't die on me. Basically, I want to make the machine seem physically powerful, but the stance as sort of a parent or guardian.
April 30, 2001

Weird Powered Armor
I'm actually pretty proud at how this one came out. It's an image of a mutated figure in shapeshifting powerarmor. Because the thing inside changes so rapidly, the armor is always bending about in bizzare fasions.
And they're supposed to have smiley faces.
April 30, 2001

Crazed Doctor
Yeah, I know. Thumb on the wrong side. Basically, a human figure, holding a syringe, and looking either crazy or at least intimidating. Preferably both, but we don't always get what we want. His head is actually supposed to be out of propotion with the rest of his body, due to some strange drug use in childhood.
April 30, 2001

Trancendent Figure
To trancend the mortal coil, and experiance existance beyond this simple plane is the goal of many religions.
But how the hell do you draw someone who is experiancing such a state, yet interacting in this plane?
April 30, 2001

Decaying Figure
Rotting fast enough to reach forward as he melts. Eww!
April 30, 2001

Possessed Machine
Here, the face area is the main light source, with the body made primarally from plastic like materials.
However, any comments on the over all machine design would be appreciated...
April 30, 2001

Very Bad Sketch
I have absolutely no skill when it comes to special effects. I freely admit it. But this guy is supposed to be a walking special effect. A collumn of light, a figure in the center, and a faint image of his face etched in the beam... that's what I wanted.
Problem is, I still have no idea how to do that.
April 30, 2001

Innocent and Ugly
And on the opposite side, there's this monster. I tried to give a very cartoony design in a somewhat realistic fasion, and make the character innocent.
April 30, 2001

Skeletal Figure in cloak
And this was before I played Diablo II for the first time... Basically, you've got a skeleton in a cloak. The eyes don't really glow, but they are inverted.
April 30, 2001

Perverted Blob
A dare, actually. Make a comedic tentical demon. I'd like to think this qualifies...
April 30, 2001

Demon Features
Using a classic demon head (red skin, horns, no nose) I played around with the face to get some emotions. It's still mostly pencils, though.
April 30, 2001

Experiment In Chibi
Heh. Obviously, this one could use a bit more shading. The character chibified is actually the biggest baddie I've got, so I had a lot of fun with this. I just couldn't make those eyes cute though...
April 30, 2001

Slain Love
Inspired in part by a Gargoyals and all those images of angels holding a dying loved one, I came up with this.
The deamon is supposed to be sad, feeling loss. And, being a deamon, expresses that loss by getting really damn pissed. Basically a very painfilled picture.
Well, that's what I wanted to do, anyway...
April 30, 2001

Poster
Just wanted to see if I could do a decent movie style poster.
April 30, 2001

DBZ-esque Portrait
This was my first real attempt to get an artistic portrait of two characters down. Sort of a yin-yang thing. Naturally, the two characters are related, actually the same person, just after a considerable change. Oh, and the pale guy is supposed to have no shading.
April 30, 2001

Indian with pack sitting on a cliff
Jason himself didn't turn out too bad. But the scenery... ugh. And that pack should be at least vaugely 3-d...
Actually, Jason's face could use a little tweaking. I always screw up ethnic features. Asian eyes, for instance.
April 30, 2001

Dancing Clown
Just a scrawnly little guy in a mask with really baggy pants. I was mainly working on goofy poses with him.
April 30, 2001

Living Dead Guy
Basically, a third degree burn victem with a stone mask. I did a poor job with the actual body and blasted clothes, but the mask looks pretty good. More scorch marks would've been good, though.
April 30, 2001

Adam
Just a quick scetch of my roommate. Mainly for figure work, and simple background stuff.
April 30, 2001

Figure in Stasis
You know, even with that tilt, I still think the claw arm is too big. Ah well. I'm actually pretty proud of this picture. Granted, there's no real background, but three characters with easily readable features, and a general sense of what's going on... yeah, this one turned out all right.
April 30, 2001

Light Figure
This one was such a bitch to draw, and then someone showed me the invert trick in Photoshop. Reguardless, the figure is supposed to be female, but since it's emitting all the light, shading isn't supposed to be allowed.
Old habits caught me at the head, so you can still see a bit of her facial structure.
April 30, 2001

Polymorph
Yep, I know that any normal human trying that pose would be dead in a second. Good thing this guy isn't human, eh? Essentially, we've got a liquid polymorph here.
April 30, 2001

Walking Projector
More stupid special effects I couldn't get done... This character is supposed to be a machine, with clear 'skin.' The features, like clothes, skintone, lights, etc, are projected onto the skin like images onto a TV screen.
But how the hell does someone draw that?
April 30, 2001

Tall Figure
My answer to "Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman." ^_^
April 30, 2001

Cyber Z-Warrior
Just a cyborg done in a vaguely DBZ fasion. The head is intentionally smaller than the rest of the body.
April 30, 2001

Bat-Thing
Hm... I'm going to have to shade in those teeth...
April 30, 2001

Broken Golem
Physical pain and spiritual despair where what I was trying to make here. Judging from just how far the picture's actually gotten (not far) I'm not skilled enough for that yet.
Good thing too. I'd have some really twisted dreams if I did.
April 30, 2001

CyberTank
Major league anger here, accompanied by a bit of pain. Oddly enough, the thing I'm most proud of for this one are the treads. How sad is that?
April 30, 2001

Loner
The name really says it all. He's supposed to be pretty old, or at least look like he is.
April 30, 2001

Well, there's all the work I've done lately. Should you want to comment, the address is... zalabar@yahoo.com
