I love dairy products. I admit it. But I can't have them, so rather than let myself suffer needlessly, I've been doing a little research. I will be placing everything I find here, feel free to use it yourself.

Did you know that we are the only species that drinks the milk of other species, and continue to drink it after we have been weened as young children? Humans didn't start drinking milk until a couple of hundred of years ago (no more than a thousand years ago - and then only generally in Europe). It may have been that being lactose-intolerant was the majority back then, and when diet required that they eat dairy, the lactose-intolerant became less fit for survival, and they were slowly weeded out from the popluation. The reasons why it seems that there are more lactose-intolerant people now than before are most likely to be:
1. We now know what it is, therefore we notice it more.
2. More people are willing to admit to it.
3. There are possible diets that allow people to eat dairy-free, meat-free, animal-free, and maybe even be healthier for it.
4. Now that we can overcome things such as lactose-intolerance, diabetes, high cholesterol with diet and medication, so people live longer now that would have before.
