T-5 Overdrive Transmission Upgrade

I am very fond of the old Flathead V-8 in my truck and have decided to rebuild and keep it.  The transmission, however, has to go!!!!!   The previous owner of my truck made a mess of installing a 3 speed floor shift transmission.  He butchered the cross member beyond repair and welded various scraps of steel to rebuild the integrity.

Besides the mess I wanted to remove from my truck, who wants a 3 speed anyway????

I searched high and low for adapters.  I wanted to keep a manual transmission, which led me to a unit manufactured by Offenhauser for the Borg-Warner T-5.  (To this date that is still the only known option, email me if you have found others) 

You can purchase this unit from Speedway Motors.  Along with the bell housing from Offenhauser, some machining is necessary.  Or, you can buy the unit as a kit from Corhuskers Rod and Custom.  The kit is pricey, but you get a lot more and no machining is required.   I chose to get the kit from Cornhuskers to simplify things.
