You use a T-5 transmission which can be found on 80's s-10 pickups. The transmission is also available on some mustangs. However, the shifter location is different and not suited to trucks.
In addition, you use your original ford flywheel and pressure plate with a chevy clutch. Once everything is assembled your original clutch pedal will mate and control your clutch.
If you decide to buy the bell housing alone, you will have to make a pilot bushing from brass to fit the input shaft of the new tranny. This is not a big task for the average machine shop.
In addition, a sleeve has to be installed into your original throw-out bearing housing so it will fit on the tranny shaft. You can get an idea from this picture:
From the photo you can clearly see the sleeve. Again, something your local machine shop could do and possibly save you some money.
And finally, the starter cap on the intermediate bell housing conflicts with your Offenhauser adapter. Therefore, you have to grind a notch in it. The easiest way is to trace the old transmission on a piece of paper and then lay it out on the adapter. Measure 5 times.....cut once!!!!!!
