Aromatherapy may have a great impact to our life. However, it is very important for us not to depend on it alone to cure illness. Even though a simple drop of the essential oils makes us to feel good for life, but there is no scientific proof as to what actually happens during the therapy and how it works. There is more research need to be done on this. But if you are thinking of having aromatherapy, you can always consult your health care provider.

While there is widespread information that aromatherapy is widely used to relieve stress and keeps the body in good condition, there is also vague data as to whether aromatherapy really reduces stress. According to the Natural Standard and Faculty of the Havard Medical School, “Early research suggests that it may not be helpful”. Moreover, “There are published reports of agitation, drowsiness, nausea and headache with the use of aromatherapy. Some oils are thought to have toxic effects on the brain, liver and kidney or to increase the risk of cancer with long-term use”.

Essential oils are strongly concentrated and volatile too. If we are careless to use which oil, it might result in burns, allergic reactions, headache, or nausea. Therefore, it is very important to look at the instructions. Essential oils may be harmful if taken by mouth, so it should not be swallowed.
