The Magnificent Seven Ride Again After a federal marshal takes over as law enforcement in town, Judge Travis is forced to disband the Magnificent Seven, who return to the separate lives they led before coming together. However, when a group of destructive cattle ranchers decides to take advantage of the situation, the townspeople are left practically defenseless against the dastardly plans for their community.

NOTE: Parts of nearly every first season episode were adapted into this one, including the uncredited appearances of Brion James and Tim Thomerson. Dale Midkiff won the male sidekick role on the new drama Martial Law but turned it down, presumably because The Magnificent Seven was renewed.

Vin is arrested by a Federal Marshal for a murder he did not commit and hauled back to Texas. Chris decides to spring Vin during the trek back to Texas, while the others try to get a bead on Eli Joe -- the real murderer. Meanwhile, Ezra is shocked to learn his mother is opening a hotel across the street from his newly-purchased saloon. Buck is surprised when a local girl informs him he's the father of her child-to-be.

Now, he has the entire Nichols family on his trail. Meanwhile, J.D. finds himself jealous when one of the Nichols brothers takes a liking to Casey.

The Seven are sent on the road to protect a wagon train from a greedy landowner intent on keeping the travelers from reaching their destination, in part one of a two-part episode.

When Judge Travis rules that a choice piece of land belongs to a group of homesteaders instead to the vicious Dicky O'Shea, the Judge asks the Seven to protect the homesteaders as they travel to their new land. However, when Dicky decides to play dirty and Will, the leader of the homesteaders, refuses the help of the Seven, the lives of those on the wagon train are seriously threatened.

Meanwhile, when Vin falls hard for Will's ill-treated wife, Charlotte, the two begin an illicit affair and Vin must decide either to stay with the Seven or run off with the woman he loves.

Vin Leaves the Seven To Run Off with a Married Woman

Dicky O'Shea continues his siege on the wagon train as the homesteaders struggle to reach their new land. However, when some of the homesteaders are critically injured, they vote to turn back and surrender their land to Dicky.

Not one to leave witnesses behind, Dicky plans to ambush the wagon train anyway, hiring gunmen to kill the homesteaders and leaving our heros far outnumbered. Also, after running off from the wagon train, Vin and Charlotte continue their illicit affair, although the weight of having abandoned the others affects them both.

When a man is murdered in another town, Judge Travis asks the Seven to help keep the peace as the townspeople prepare to hang the accused killer. However, Nathan is astounded when he sees that the man accused is his beloved father, Obediah, who, free for the first time in his life, wants his day in court.

Meanwhile, Ezra's mother, Maude, is jailed by J. D. when she's caught red-handed with a pair of stolen diamond cuff-links.

When J. D. kills a man trying to rob the bank, one of his stray bullets accidentally kills an innocent woman. Guilt ridden and disheartened that not even his friends or Casey can look him in the eye, J. D. decides to leave town forever. However, the notorious brother of the slain bank robber comes to town to reclaim his brother's body, and he will not let anyone, especially J. D., stand in his way.

Meanwhile, Ezra finally meets his match when a fellow gambler unrelentlessly continues to beat him, even after Ezra tries every dirty trick in the book.
