Another Look Ahead To 02/09

By Sam Connelly

It was only just a short time ago, but it felt like years. I suppose it was probably about 9 months ago that I discovered CZW. At the time I had no idea what it was all about and I thought it was just a crap indie where wrestlers had no talent and would just batter each other with hardcore weapons until the other one bled to death. How wrong I was.

About two months later I downloaded a program called Morpheus which I'm pretty sure some of you must have and I searched for this company which I knew nothing about called CZW and I downloaded some short video clips. Amongst the video clips was the Pyramid Of Hell, a young certain highflyer called Ric Blade who hit a Swanton off a 35 foot balconey onto the Backseat Boyz and Lobo falling off the Cage Of Death. These short clips all amazed me at the time and I thought to myself "Shit, these guys are out of their freakin' minds" and I downloaded some more clips, and then some more, and even more until my whole computer was brimming with nearly over 300 CZW video clips. My favorites were Ric Blade's dare-devil antics and tendancy to flip off very high objects through tables. But I wanted to find out more about this company that I was slowly getting addicted to. I went on the official website and then followed the link to a certain German CZW fansite that had a hell of a lot of match clips. I think it would be accurate to say that I downloaded all 20 of them in about...hmm....a day. I was officially hooked. I went from kissing Triple H's ass at the beginning of the week to wanting to see 'The Game' get Press Slammed off a balcony through a light tube table. It was only a week later that I ordered two CZW tapes, 'UnF'NBelievable' and 'Take 1'. To say every day when my video's didn't turn up that I was deeply disappointed was an understatement. But eventually they came through I watched both, in a row and I couldn't believe what I saw. Their was the breath taking violence of 'UnF'NBelievable' and the outstanding ring work from 'Take 1'. I officially loved CZW, and at 1 a.m. I woke up and watched them again and went to school the next morning totally fucking tired.

By the way, I'm 15, my names Sam Connelly, and I love in Croydon in good old Great Britian. I've only been to one "proper" wrestling show before and that was WWF Insurrextion 2 years ago. The only other shows I have been to are too shit to call "proper". Now you know how I got into CZW and who I am. Here is my views on CZW's upcoming show...'This time it's personal'.

Justice Pain vs. Nick Gage
These guys have matched up many times before and they know each other like the back of their hands. So hopefully this match won't be a dud. I think this has big potential. CZW may not be able to use light tubes in Philly but I still think they can get equally as hardcore and innovative. If they get innovative ideas then they can use any weapon to impress the fans. My match idea would be to get the fans to throw all their chairs into the ring and Justice Pain could hit a Pain Thriller onto Gage onto the ring of chairs. That would be awesome. My prediction is that this will be a hell of a match and that Justice Pain will get the win.

Zandig vs. Lobo
This match is supposed to be the most violent match is CZW history. I don't see how they will live up to that claim. Have they forgotten about the 200 light tubes death matches? Have they forgotten the Death match at H-8 Club Dead? Surely Zandig hasn't forgotten when Wifebeater cut open his back and poured wax into the wounds? Whatever these two maniacs have in store for the CZW crowd I have a feeling they are going to let them down. I think Lobo will get the win too.

VD vs. Backseat Boys - All I will say about this match is that Backseat Boys better win because I hate VD with all my heart. I have a feeling VD will win though.

The Messiah vs. Nick Mondo
This match is definitely the most anticipated match on the card. These two guys in my opinion are equals. Hopefully we will see one of the best matches ever from these two fan favorites. I have a feeling The Messiah will go over as a prize of taking those vicious chair shots last show. Mondo and Messiah won't let us down. These guys will never let the crowd down.

And just to finish up I think that CZW have the best ring talent in the country. But to improve it's product and rise in popularity it should get some hot chicks, just two or three will do. And they should actually make it so people can understand what they say on the microphone and start doing good and original angles and storylines. Do it for the sake of expansion CZW, do it for all the wrestling fans around the globe just begging for an alternative to the WWF.
