Cultural Violence - a male perspective
The primary focus of the cultural attack on men and maleness has been, of course, their sexuality. That is the one aspect of themselves which is the most difficult to dissociate themselves from. By trivializing and making a mockery of men's sexual desire for women, and the obsessive focus on degrading the penis as the following email being circulated around the net shows, women assure themselves that men who are capable of gentle sexuality are unavailable to them. There is nothing "gentle" in the zingers below.
How long this social and cultural attack on the basic mechanisms which draw men and women together will last, or what long-term effects it will have, is unknown, but the current effect on relationships between men and women in general has been enormously chilling.
