Frederica Chase Dodd was the first Sergeant-At-Arms of Alpha Chapter. Her name was misspelled twice by C.E. Lucas, the official who notarized the Certificate of Incorporation of Delta Sigma Theta. He added a "k" to her name and, by so doing, created considerable confusion for Delta in later years. She spelled her name without the "k" in all of her written correspondence. She helped establish a YWCA for Black women in Dallas, TX, and was Director of the Emergency Relief Station for Blacks in her home town. She was a Charter Member of the Dallas Alumnae Chapter. |
