Frequently Asked Questions
Question: What is an emulator? / What types of emulators are there?
Answer:An emulator imitates the function of another system - in this case, it's a program allowing you to play, for example, a Nintendo 64 game on your computer.
There are emulators for just about every game system you can think of. From what I am familiar with, there are emulators for these systems: Atari, Game Boy (Regular, Color, and Advanced rolled into one), NES, SNES, N64, and Sega. There are other emulators, of course. Most emulators have several different versions, so if one doesn't work on your computer, check for patches or try a different emulator program made by a different group of people.
Question: What is a ROM?
Answer:A "ROM" is the emulator equivalent of a game cartridge/cd - such as the Zelda: A Link to the Past game cartridge (to use a Super NES example) or the Mario 64 game cartridge (N64). Some of these games are classics (others are very, very bad). People who knew programming somehow managed to create computerized versions of the games.
Question: What is a "Superfamicom" or "Super Famicom"?
Answer:The Japanese term for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Similarly, Famicom is the Nintendo Entertainment System.
Question: Where can I find (game)/emulator?
Answer:RPGClassics.com - Sailor Moon: Another Story has links to the SMRPG rom and the Zsnes Emulator. And, as always, you can use a search engine and look for a site that has the game for download.
There are two popular types of Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) emulators - the Snes9x and Zsnes. The Snes9x emulator can be found for download at Snes9x.com, and the Zsnes at Zsnes.com. Again, if either of these sites don't work, use a search engine to find the emulator for download.
Question: What emulator do you use?
Answer:I use the Snes9x Emulator. The other Snes (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) emulator is the Zsnes. The Snes9x emulator can be found for download at Snes9x.com, and the Zsnes at Zsnes.com.
Question: When in the Sailor Moon timeline does this game take place?
Answer:This game takes place after Season 3 (Death Busters arc) and before Season 4 (Dead Moon arc).
Question: Um, why are you doing this? The game was made in the 1990's, and no one plays it now!
Answer:I play it still! And for the sheer... um... I don't know. For the sake of knowledge! And I have too much time on my hands, despite being in college. Yep. I think I'm obsessed... or something... AND!! There are still people who had no idea there were Sailor Moon games. If they should ever need this information, I like to know that it was there if they looked. ^_^
Question: Q: Can/May I use the sprites you made?
Answer:Actually, I didn't make them. I played them game and used the "Print Screen" button on my keyboard to get the sprite. If you don't want to do this yourself to get a sprite, email me at xxRainboKatxx(at)yahoo(dot)com with a list of the sprites that you wish to use and what you want to do with them, and we will discuss it. Do NOT take without permission.
Question: Hey! There're spoilers in the walkthroughs!
Answer:Well, yes. There isn't really a way to keep spoilers from walkthroughs, though I have tried to minimalize the amount of them. If you don't want spoilers, don't use a walkthrough. Go ahead on your own. Games can and tend to be more fun without walkthroughs.
Question: What is "Ker-Fluff"?
Answer:A: It is an onomatopoeia for a sound my cat made one day (he sneezed). And the site name. An onomatopoeia is a word like: Bang!, Splash!, or Woosh! It is a word that imitates a sound.
Question: Why don't you update more often?
Answer:I have several excuses - college, work, etc.... Ker-Fluff isn't a "I have to have an update every day or I'll lose visitors!" type of site, at least for me. It's a fan-site, so I update when I choose to.
Question: You haven't answered my question! / My question isn't here.
Answer:Email me at xxRainboKatxx[at]yahoo[dot]com - replacing the bracketed words with the appropriate symbols - with your question and I'll answer. Be sure to title your email appropriately (ex: "KerFluff Question", "Question(s) about SM:AS", etc).
