Ker-Fluff!
A SM:AS resource site.

Overall...

Hurrah! You've managed to reach the only completely opinion (ie: non-informational) page of Ker-Fluff!, where I have put down my own opinion of the good and bad points of Sailor Moon: Another Story - as well as the parts that I have a differing opinion on.

The Good

Okay, I think the game was good overall. I liked it. I'm obsessed enough with it to maintain Ker-Fluff! even though I'm going to have to start the game over to finish some sections of it.

Also, look around the Sailor Moon portion of the web. Notice how many little sprites there are that bear resemblance to the sprites in SM:AS?

It was never butchered by the dubbers. I liked the dub (still do) - it was my very first encounter with anime, and therefore holds a special place in my memories - but I also believe that the dubbers (DIC, Cloverway - those people) butchered it when they deleted scenes, episodes, and changed the script. The game, however, was translated by fans. While there are spelling errors in the script, at least it doesn't have DIC's and Cloverway's touches.

The game introduces a new enemy never seen in the anime or manga, and ties together most of the seasons. I think that's pretty cool.

The Bad

The music is a real downer. The music is repetitive very annoying after a while. I don't remember an NES game with that much annoying music. But it can be turned off so you can listen to your own music while you play.

Level-building is an essential part of the game - some boss battles are extremely hard if you're even one level too low. So fighting an enormous amount of random battles is a must.

You have to remember which senshi last did a Link Attack with whom. While Link Attacks can be powerful if they're built up, the irritation of not being able to get the last 1/2 point to keep increasing LAP is a major drawback.
