revolves around a 16-year old onmyouji(yin-yang master) Sumeragi Subaru, his lively
twin sister Hokuto, and their friend the veterinarian Sakurazuka Seishirou.
young as he is, Subaru is the 13th leader to the Sumeragi-family, the number one onmyouji
group in Japan. while Seishirou is also an onmyouji(the vet thing is only for cover)
from the assasination group Sakurazukamori, the group that is well known in the Japanese
underworld that does the dirty job for the government. and Hokuto... she adores Subaru and is also
the one responsible for Subaru's fancy and colourful outfit. yupp... she dresses her brother up!!
the main plot(I think) is about the bet between Subaru and Seishirou which took place
7 years before the story took place, when Subaru was still a boy. and the plot is told
in the background of various "spiritual" cases that Subaru, as an onmyouji has to conduct.
the bet was made under a blooming Sakura Tree in Ueno Kouen(Ueno Park),
where Subaru accidentally saw Seishirou during one of his kills.
if the two of them, Subaru and Seishirou, were ever to meet again for the second time,
Seishirou would spend a year living close by and spending their time together. and during
that one year, Subaru has to proove that he's more than just a random thing. in other words,
Subaru has to make Seishirou feel some feelings towards him(cos Seishirou cannot
differentiate living things from non-living things, making him unable to feel
(love, guilt, remorse, etc), thus making him a ruthless assasin).
if Subaru couldn't proove that he's more than just a thing, it will be Seishirou's win,
and Seishirou will take Subaru's life. if Subaru wins, then he will be allowed to continue living.
after making the bet, Seishirou erased Subaru's memory of that incident. and Subaru's memory
was only returned to him at the moment when the bet came to its conclusion.

This story has a sad, and unfinished ending. I read the ending on the train... and I was
trying so hard to hold back the tears. kiakiakia!!! I get all emotional from some fiction :p.
