X is about the battle between the "Dragons of Heaven" and the "Dragons of Earth".
The "Dragons of Heaven" also known as the "7 Seals" are Shiro Kamui, Sumeragi Subaru,
Arisugawa Sorata, Kishu Arashi, Nekoi Yuzuriha, Aoki Seiichiro and Kasumi Karen.
They are the chosen ones who must protect the Earth and human being from total destruction.
all the Seals has the ability to put up "kekkai" or barriers.... where they can fight
and blow things up without effecting the real world and other people.
while the "Dragons of Earth" or the "7 Messengers" are Monou Fuuma, Sakurazuka Seishirou,
Satsuki, Yuuto, Nataku, Kakyo. their job is to help the Mother Earth who is crying from
all the pollution and destruction caused by humans, by destroying everything and then
starting over from the beginning.
in this story.... The Earth's foundation is made of a number of "Earth barriers" which are
well known landmarks located in Tokyo(duhh!! where else could it be?!). and if all of these Earth barriers are
destroyed... the Earth itself will be annihilated. so... the "seals" job is to protect
these barriers from the "messengers" whose mission is to destroy these Earth barriers.
the main guy of this story is Kamui, a 16 year old boy.
Kamui has to choose whether he wants to join the "Dragons of Heaven" or the
"Dragons of Earth". and he chose to be a "Dragon of Heaven" and fight to protect the ones
he loves.... his childhood best friends, Kotori and Fuuma. but once he made up his mind...
the empty seat for the "Dragons of Earth" has to be filled by Kamui's Twin Star...
and it was destined that the Twin Star is Kamui's best friend Fuuma. meaning that
Kamui has to fight the other Kamui who resides in Fuuma's body. and this other Kamui in
Fuuma... his first kill was Fuuma's sister Kotori. and Kamui received one of the biggest blow
in his life when he saw his best friend killed his other best friend in front of him.
yeah... Kamui is in a tough place. he often hesitates whenever he's fighting the other Kamui...
cos if he kills him... Fuuma would be dead to... and he's vowed to protect Fuuma.
Fuuma... he's everything you need as a best friend.
and when he became Kamui for the "Dragons of Earth"... he really kicks ass.
he has the face that resembles anyone yet no one at all. and he also knows
what people wish for... and would made their wish come true... in an ironic way.
example... this boy Daisuke's biggest wish is to risk his own life to protect
Hinoto... and Kamui made the wish came true by killing him while he was protecting Hinoto.
like what's written on the manga's cover, "Their Destiny was Foreordained"...
the story is mostly about fate and destiny. and also about hope and how one would
struggle to have one's wish/dream come true.
this manga made me cry. yupp!! it did. the episodes involving Subaru and Seishirou,
previously from "Tokyo Babylon" really touched my heart.
it's heartbreakingly heartbreaking!!! huu huu huu!
and also the episodes with Nekoi and her invisible wolf dog. that one is also
a tear jerker
