Bio: I go under the pseudonym, or pen name, Zilent1 (Zil) and have been a fanfiction writer for just under two years now (see below). I don't usually give away my age, but I'm between 15 and 25 years old. You pick ^__^. I think I'm a nice person but I'm too much of an anti-social to really know. I'm also very short and am known to have a high self-esteem, so tease me all you want :P.

The nitty gritty about me? I'm a hypocrite, contridict myself beyond count, 'talks' too much, very vain, have the memory of an expanded goldfish, semi-dyslexic, major procrastinator, an oxymoron on two legs, and have seven fully-functional muses/consciences. My muses are usually referred to as Voices. I'm kid you not. Don't think me a walking mockery of schizophrenia, because I'm not :).

My writing style consists of limited dialogue because I hate dialogue. This way, I'm more descriptive in what I write, letting myself get carried away with what I'm writing. When I do write dialogue, things don't usually come out the way I wanted. Perhaps that's why I mostly write introspective one-shots...

One thing I need to improve is my use of tenses and in the way of showing and not telling (?). Apparently I switch between past and present frequently, and I think I tell what is happening, rather that letting what happens but I'm working on it :). This is where my lack of a beta reader shows. In fact, any spelling or grammatical error is bound to scream "Zil has no beta!"

Most works in Original Short Stories come from my English class assignments. Usually we're not meant to take away the drafts, but I manage to sneak off with them afterwards ^_^. Just to note, to any interested, I am in my forth year of learning French and I take a German correspondence course (as well as one year of Japanese up my sleeve). So, yeah. I'm not just using a translator to acquire that kind of...foreign...knowledge...whenever if ever needed.

If you find areas that I may need to improve, please, don't hesitate to point them out so I can work harder in that particular area. I crave constructive criticism as much as reviews *___*

History: I am by no means a 'professional' writer, but I do enjoy writing whenever I am capable. I realised how good I was two years ago, when I wrote The Day The Sun Went Out for my English teacher. But that isn't to say that I haven't been writing before then. Years before that, I thought up very imaginative stories such as a girl being mistaken for a vampire's lost love (>_<;) to the school stationery being stolen and having to pursue the thieves on a country-wide hunt (^^;). Ehehe, yeah, wacked out stories if you ask me...

Later on, I discovered the wonderful world of fanfiction, in which I became a member of Fanfiction.net on 6 October 2001. It was two months later before I began writing The Story of Zephlin - my infamous Harry Potter fanfiction that still isn't completed -_-; It already has 16 badly written chapters but, hey! We all gotta start somewhere! And look! It got 43 reviews! That's gotta means something, ne? :)

Nine days later, on Christmas Day, coincidentally, I uploaded The Day The Sun Went Out, earning it three reviews. It was over two months later until I uploaded a new piece of original work: my poem, Winter. I took it down [then put it up a month later] after someone claimed it was unoriginal work (or something like that) ;_;. It got me down, yes, but it later got five positive reviews. Thanks! And to assure everyone, it is my own work.

It was about five months, and seven published fics later, Charcoal Skies made its first appearance on the World Wide Web. Five days later I wrote a successful (and completed) Gundam Wing fanfiction titled Tier. It received 20 reviews, for the six chapters, and still continues to receive them :)

To date, I have now written and uploaded 23 fics - mostly fanfiction. None of the serial fanfictions, except Tier, are finished and it will be a long time before they are ^^;.

My pet project is working on "Demon Wings", as well as figuring out the plot for "Charcoal Skies". The prologue for Charcoal Skies can be found on FictionPress.net, but the story has since branched away from what I originally intended, meaing it'll be a while before I write another chapter :). Where Separated By Dimensions failed (because of lack of communication - I'll never do another collaboration again), Demon Wings will succeed...hopefully.

[Additional: 31st May 2006]. Something of interest, but in 2004 I submitted the first 'chapter' of "Demon Wings" into a writing competition at school: the Joy Cowley Writing Award. While I didn't get first place, I did get Highly Commended! And that is definitely a feat in itself, ne? :)
