"It's the rainy season, and the clammy air oozes with sticky vibes of lust. Rinko, 30, silk skin glistening with sweat, is hot for love, but can't get it from her fat, bald, cleanness-freak husband. Then a stalker blackmails them with photos of her masturbating. The ransom he demands, is a series of stunts like walking in public with a vibrator up her panty-less miniskirt. Drowning in a cataclysm of humiliation and pleasure, the couple comes out of sexual hibernation. Shedding his cybersex/ body mutilation motifs like dead skin, Tsukamoto (Tetsuo, Gemini) slithers into that quivering space between art and erotica to revive animal instincts stifled by the concrete jungle. Tsukamoto filmed a sexy story between a married couples and a deadly photographer. Trying to take a closer look to everyone's desire, Tsukamoto chooses to show that a fulfillment of the desire from the inner self is the form of climax of life. The atmosphere created in the film depicts a city with people suffering from all kinds of sickness with the self. Suppression of desire, losing the meaning of life, cleanliness manic, solitude relationship, rejection of social life, hopeless, selfishness…basic instinct, characters in the story are so humane that everyone cannot escape from admitting. Mastery photographing, beautiful and exotic pictures, this is the shadow between art and life. (8/10)
