Fists were not only in the pocket but also on the screen. A masterpiece of the Italian 60's. A total rebellion, a fatal criticism, a brutal consciousness, and an immortal sense of value. As a debut, Bellocchio chose a shocking start to the corrupted middle class & society by introducing the story of the freaky family. Alessandro, a child of a blind woman, suffered from epilepsy, and found no stability in the normal life. Destruction is construction, he killed his mother and brother in order to free his elder brother from the burden of the family. A violent arts form, the film is like all time classic that remains appalling in the 21st century. Good actors and actresses, thorough construction of characters and scenes, the film is the guru of its kind that casts away the rest. (9/10)
