**~~ My Friend Maree ~~**

I have a Friend her name is Maree,

And if you met Her you would agree.

That I am blessed and you’d comprehend,

Why I call Her … My Best Friend.

She has seen Me through My darkest days,

When hope seemed lost amid the haze.

When I needed to let My feelings pour,

She was there at My front door.

With a "Give me hug! And what’s up Mate?"

She’d let me talk til very late.

About the things in my painful past,

She showed me I had a Friend at last.

Who’d stick by Me through thick and thin,

And she'd help return my zany grin.

She shared my pain as well as joys,

When I talked about, my lost boys.

She guided Skye along life’s path,

But the best thing shared; I’ve saved til last.

It was back in 97, on the Second of May,

What I now call "Reunion Day."

She met Me at, Sydney Airport Gate,

With video in hand said, "Let’s go Mate!"

"I’ve got to get you to the Museum by ten."

"So you can at last; Meet Your Daughter Karen."

She shared in My Most Joyous Day,

With video running to record each phase.

Precious Memories, Captured just for Me,

By My Friend I call Maree.

My Friends are Few, like Diamonds Rare,

And Maree’s most precious, for whom I care.

You can walk the Earth til it’s very end,

And still not find a Better Friend.

Our lives they took a separate path,

And I have Missed Her Cheery Laugh.

But Good News to tell you; I have yet,

She has finally joined the Internet.

So My days are filled; with Joy Again,

For I have a Link, to Maree My Friend.
