"How much gas do you waste with petroleum oil"?
As gasoline prices continue to rise, the cost of operating your car or truck goes up too. We all look for ways to improve the fuel economy of our transportation. Petroleum oils have been used to lubricate engines since the invent of the automobile. Why should you change the type of oil you use? Petroleum oils have molecules that are uneven in size. When the oil is refined for auto lubricants, additives are added to the base oil to fortify it and make it able to protect against the extreme heat developed by today's engines. The oil can for a short period of time, protect fairly well. However, after you have been in heavy traffic, on a highway at high speeds, or just making short trips that are hard on your engine oil, the additive packages start to deplete. Now, everytime you get the oil hot, the large oil molecules dump their dirt onto the smaller molecules. When your engine cools, the small molecules settle to the bottom of your engine and form sludge and varnish on the engine walls. As your oil begins to break down, it can not do as good a job of lubricating. This is when you begin to see a drop in fuel economy.

Divide the gallons into the miles driven and you will get the miles per gallon for that tank. Now, increase your miles per gallon 10% to see how much you could save. Example, if you got 20 mpg and increase 10% you will get 22 mpg. If you drive 15,000-miles per year, that will save you 68 gallons of fuel. Multiply the gallons saved by the cost of fuel to figure how much you can save. At $1.65 you would save $112.20. As cost of gas goes up, your savings go up too.
