This Picture is of Lagoa de Fogo (Fire Lake). You can reach it by car to look at it by this view. It is also possible to spend an afternoon or weekend down by the water. It can be reached by at least two villages, Agua D'Alto by Rocha dos Campos, or by the street Rua da Cruz  and also by the village of Agua de Pau. These two villages are in the south of the island. It will take about two hours to hike up to the lake  and it is a hard two hours. Bring plenty of water , comfortable shoes, and start your hike at least two hours before the sun rises to avoid the heat of the sun. Be sure to bring a camara or video camara, the view is beautiful.  Remember, carry your trash back with you, do not leave it there. The hike is worth it. You may however find someone with a 4 by 4  to drive you up there for a cost.
