Volta a Ilha

This is a picture of the cais da Vila Franca do Campo. This is where you come if you want to catch the boat that brings you to the Ilheu Da Vila

This is the Ilheu (island) of Vila Franca Do Campo, and is located in the south of the island. It was not always an island, it got seperated and turned into an island after a huge earthquake. Vila Franca was actually the first capital of Sao Miguel until the earthquack. After the earthquack, they declaired Ponta Delgada the capital of Sao Miguel.  People usually spend an afternoon on the island because it is beautiful. The water is calm, and it looks like a huge swimming pool. There are some legends that come with the island which no one can prove.  There is a boat that brings you to the island for a small cost, and make sure you get on the last boat ride because it takes a tour of the island. It is really worth seeing.

This picture was taken on the side of the island. These guy was diving outside of the island, This is dangerious because there is rocks, you have to run off the rock in order to make sure you will fall away from the rocks in the ocean. I almost did it myself, but since that day was too windy I decided against it.
