Sim+ : Third Party Software Tools

Sim+ concentrates on automated generation of simulation code. For other stages of the process of creating , executing , and analyzing simulation results, there is a selection of tools from other companies, organizations or individuals - ranging from free or shareware tools to several $1Ks.

Block Diagram Entry / Design Capture Tools

• Aldec - makers of Active-CAD

• OrCAD - makers of Capture

• MicroSim - makers of Microsim Schematics - a part of Design Lab

Aldec (by CD-ROM) and MicroSim (by download) have working evaluation packages that allow to save files with a limited number of parts.

C/C++ Compilers

• DJGPP from Delorie Software is a high-quality, free, C/C++ compiler. DJGPP generates 32bit executables that run under DOS, Win95 and WinNT.

• Or you can by commercial products from Microsoft , Borland , and others.

Command Shell

Sim+ is a command line utility, as such, the easiest way (and if you are using DOS - the only way) to execute it is from a 'prompt' command shell.
From windows, you may open a MSDOS window, or you may use 4DOS or 4NT from JP Software that are more friendly.

Post Processing / Math Packages

• MathWorks makes Matlab - a powerful mathematics package, that includes many math function libraries, as well as very good graph creation capabilities.

• gnuplot - a free graph creation package
