  MY LIKES...
  • THE WORLD:
    I am a very creative and open-minded person with interests stretching from science and philosophy to gardening, outdoors leisure (bird-watching- botanics), hiking, fishing, sci-fi (and space !), politics, and visiting historical places to name a few. I listen to all kinds of music, from pop to opera, preferences smooth rock and ballads.
  • SCI-FI:
    Star Trek ( all generations but the Next is the best),     Babylon 5, the X-files of course...and Heinlein among many other writers..
  • WINE:
    French wines are still on top even if Spain, Italy, California, Chile and Australia are making great wines too! And BTW... there is nothing wrong with BEER !
  • HUMOUR:
    Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Black Adder , and Red Dwarf
  • AND I DO LIKE... WOLVES
    A smaller wolf population dwells nowadays in the French Alps (Mercantour, see below) and I do hope they will be thriving and expanding, despite all prejudices.

    PHONEYS: people who deceive or deliberately set out to hurt others.
    CONTROLLERS: they need to be in control, no matter what it costs to others. This because of their own lack of self-esteem... they tell you to do something. You do it and then you got the blame because they didn't do it themselves...they are mostly pathetic.
    JEALOUSY: they envy other's abilities, intelligence and kindness, their "finer education". The worst ones are these who don't understand a damn about your abilities and experience, but are still going to tell you HOW to do things...they write "good" or "bad" on your scripts.. but could never write them themselves
    PREJUDICES: for example people who laugh at "over-weighed" people on the street. This is worst when it comes from other women.. or people who think that some people are "less worth" because they live in some neighborhoods...
    BIGOTS AND RACISTS: people in the categories above turn often into bigottery, xenophobia or even racism.. it makes them feel so damn superior. Worst is when they work as civil servants...
    ASS-KISSERS:  I have met quite a lot of them in my life: the result is: SNAFU: a lesson to live with !
    AND TO PROUDLY GO...

    Well.. I sent my daughter's and my name (+ my special friend Susan Rivera's) to comet Wild-2. One of the microchips is inside the sample return capsule, so will be returned back to Earth. The other microchip will remain on the spacecraft and stay in space forever.

    That's me! on the top!

    When I was younger I did a lot of hiking and even of climbing in the French Alps. On this particular hike we were at about 2 835 m  (9 301 feet) above sea level. The picture is taken at the "Jumeaux" (literally Twin Peaks) of Préfons, at the French-Italian border in the early days of October 1963.

    The area is nowadays found within the limits of the Mercantour's National Park.

    A place I often visited was La Vallée des Merveilles (The Valley of Marvels) which is known for its prehistoric petroglyphs.
