Mulder had found him in a D.C. tavern. Or had he been the one who was found? It was irrelevant now as he sat in the stillness of the spartan room. He was about to begin an interview that would make his other X-Files seem hazy and incomplete by comparison. Staring out the apartment window was a Jedi Knight. Mulder could hardly believe it. Gazing at the back of the still figure, he was startled when the man suddenly turned and appeared the next minute standing before him. It must have been a trick of the light but it seemed as if he had simply moved from one place to the next without actually walking. Jedi mind trick. That must be it. Just an illusion.

His name was Obi-Wan Kenobi and at the tavern he had claimed to be a Jedi Knight. When Mulder had wanted to know more, he had seemed almost eager to be interviewed, inviting Mulder to the apartment where he now sat. "I want to tell you how I became a Jedi. My mentor was named Qui Gon. He passed through my town and selected me and, at first, it made me feel special. As if I had an ability that set me apart, making me valuable to him. But as time went on, I began to believe Qui Gon's motivation was simply to use me. But I'm getting ahead of myself. When I first saw Qui Gon, I was awed by his quiet power. His seductive story of Jedis and The Force. I was easily drawn into his plan."
