GAME OF THE WEEK:
-----------------
It was the most incredible streak in league history. Since Bob Wallace defeated
him 49-12 in week 9 last year, Steve Czupryna had reeled off 13 straight wins.
This included last years Super Bowl win against Wallace and the only 6-0 start
this year. However there was another incredible, improbable streak that had to
end; that was the losing streak of Dave Bratcher. The two time finalist had
started the season winless; suffering heartbreaking losses mainly on Monday
night. Such was Bratcher's penchant for Monday losses, that Czupryna joked
to Bratcher after finishing Sunday done and down one; "I'm sure that you will
find a way to score negative points on Monday night." Bratcher added 3 on a
defensive shutout and made the final 29-25.

Around the league:
ERVINS TRADE HAUNTS JACKSON:
Calvin Jackson traded Ricky Ervins to Berger/Browell for Anthony Carter and
Kevin Mack. The duo "beefed up" Berger, and scored 19 points this week.
19 Jackson could have used as he lost to Jones-Klingman 41-29. However Berger
lost 52-39 to league leading scorer Tom Best who got another big game from Ricky
Watters (18 points). Berger got 39 last week and won. Same thing happened to
Dick Piel. His 43 won for him last week, but 43 this week wasn't enough to beat
Bob Wallace who had 64. It was the second straight week Wallace defeated an
opponent who scored 43.

STROUPE CAN'T SHUFFLE RIGHT LINE-UP.
Brian Ricker defeated Tim Stroupe in a game that saw recievers score like crazy.
The final tally was 38-31 Ricker, but Stroupe had a couple combinations that
were in various stages of flux on his roster that might have pulled it out.
Brent Jones, (benched, six points) plus either Courtney Hawkins (cut, 7 points)
or Herman Moore (Still on IR, 6 points) could have won it. Perhaps Dwight Stone
(12 points) can get retroactively added to his roster...

IS BUFFALO OVERATED?
Mike Talbot scored 8 points and lost with Buffalo at the helm last week. This
week, with Buffalo off, he went with the Raiders and his solid middle of
Cris Carter/Keith Jackson/Tom Rathman and whipped Alan Outlaw 37-24.
