"MUDDY MONDAY": JACKSON SURVIVES JACKE IN TIE WITH TALBOT; CZ HANGS ON
1
Halloween Haunts: Green Bay was attempting to kill the clock with under two Week 9 (Oct 30-31)
minutes left. JACKSON had just scored a touchdown from his Chicago QBs to pull Gates 43 Berger-Browell 18
even with TALBOT 33-33. Talbot's kicker, Chris Jacke, had missed a field goal Czupryna 46 Wallace 42
and an extra point. With fourth down on the Chicago nine, Jacke is not brought Best 67 Jones-Klingman 44
in to attempt another field goal, instead Green Bay tries a running play with Ricker 42 Stroupe 27
Reggie Cobb. JACKSON thinks he's out of the woods, but NO, Cobb scores! Here Jackson 33 Talbot 33
comes Jacke for the extra point! But Jacke MISSES again! How lucky can you get. Deitrich 39 Outlaw 33
Montgomery 19 Peil 16
One who knows about luck, both good and bad is Czupryna. He survived Wallace
46-42 and broke his string of Monday night horrors. If splinter squad canidate Week 10 (Nov 6-7)
Cobb had scored on a pass rather than a run, it would have been that same old Berger-Browell vs Peil
story... Perhaps in better conditions Wallace's GB QBs might have pulled it out. Czupryna vs Best
Jones-Klingman vs Deitrich
Andre Reed was having the kind of year this season for BEST that he had in 1992 Ricker vs Talbot
for JONES/KLINGMAN when they dubbed him the "Goat Man". However, against his Jackson vs Gates
former owners, the "Goat Man" came alive has he snagged two of Jim Kelly's Outlaw vs Stroupe
four touchdowns in a 67-44 BEST win. Edgar Bennett scored three times Monday Montgomery vs Wallace
to make it an interesting score, but it really wasn't that close. Best has a
2 game lead with 4 to play, but two of those games include matches with second CHICAGO AT TAMPA BAY 1:00
place RICKER and third place BERGER/BROWELL. DETROIT VS. GREEN BAY AT MILWAUKEE 1:00
INDIANAPOLIS AT MIAMI 1:00
Did you hear right, RICKER in second? His 42-27 win over STROUPE is his sixth NEW ENGLAND AT CLEVELAND 1:00
win in a row. He started this streak in LAST place. Is it destiny that he NEW ORLEANS AT MINNESOTA 1:00
go from worst to first? It could happen: the last game of the year is with first PITTSBURGH AT HOUSTON 1:00
place BEST. SAN DIEGO AT ATLANTA 1:00
SAN FRANCISCO AT WASHINGTON 1:00
Rob Moores catch and weaving run through the Colts secondary was the difference BUFFALO AT NEW YORK JETS 4:00
in DIETRICH's 39-33 win over OUTLAW. GATES, who had lost two straight to last ARIZONA AT PHILADELPHIA 4:00
place teams, caught second place BERGER/BROWELL on the 49'ers off week and won CINCINNATI AT SEATTLE 4:00
43-18 behind two scores from league leader Marshall Faulk. DENVER AT LOS ANGELES RAMS 4:00
LOS ANGELES RAIDERS AT KANSAS CITY 8:00
As is sometinmes the case, the two lowest scoring teams played each other this NEW YORK GIANTS AT DALLAS Mon 9:00
week. MONTGOMERY edged PEIL 19-16. The only touchdowns on offense were scored No BYE teams this week! No special reserve!
by PEIL recievers Alvin Harper and Mark Carrier. MONTY got all his points from
defense and a kicker, and if he had kept and started Dave Meggett, it still
wouldn't have mattered since he scored on a punt return.
