The Unbeatens Are No More

The 72 Dolphins and Bud have broken out the champagne. No one will go undefeated this year. JK loses to Bud and Outlaw is crushed by Jackson.

Never underestimate Garbage Time in the BRFL... Best trailed Stroupe by 6 with 3 minutes to go in Monday's Green Bay/Minnesota game. Brett Favre was on the bench in this blowout and Doug Pedersen came in to throw a TD. That tied the score, then Green Bay executes an onside kick and calling time outs, drives down to throw another TD with 45 seconds left.

It was a hard way for Stroupe to lose his third straight. However, he also may have done himself in. I picked and started new Packer, Darick Holmes, who did not play. The player he cut for Holmes, Charlie Garner, scored twice.

0-4 beating 4-0. Yep, it was a "lock" in this league. JK has a history of losing to winless teams. Bud is off the snide, so don't refer to him as "Thud".

It's time to start respecting Jackson. Consided as "soft" 3-1 going into the game, Jackson scored 63 points, his most since 68 points in week 9 1996. He also special reserved Atlanta's Defense, even though didn't need a D this week: they scored 19 points. The win is his 98th all time in the BRFL.

Outlaw seemed to wallow in the mud this week. Seattle QBs played in a deluge in Kansas City and his Packers had weather problems Monday night.

The Mo-Ha boys trailed by 28 going into Monday night. Not a problem. Randall Cunningham and Robert Smith combined for 33 points. Cunningham threw for 446 yards. Worth 2 bonus points as QB's awarded at 100 point increments.

It was the battle of the big time backups as Bubby Brister matched Cunningham's 4 TDs. However, the result for Barry was his third loss while scoring 40 points or more. CZ has had the same problems this year.

Peil with a full house backfield? Will wonders never cease. What is truly amazing is that he has won three straight. One the old days of the league, we called that CZ winning. In this year's league winning and CZ... is a an oxymoron.

You would think that taking advantage of Denver's big day would help teams this week. Not so... Barry's Denver QBs didn't help him in and Wallace's Denver Duo of Rod Smith and Terrell Davis didn't help him. What helped Talbot was San Francisco falling behind 23-0 in Buffalo and having to throw throw throw to catch up. As icing on the cake, Talbot's Tampa Defense picked off Wallace's QBs and returned it for a score.
