JOSE LUIS DE DELAS - MANUEL HIDALGO

Germany appears as the nexus among the three musical figures involved on this record, the two composers and their common conductor; Hidalgo in Hanover and Stuttgart, Delás in Köln, and Tamayo in Friburg, had imbibe from the solid german musical structure to later make up inside their jobs. José Luis de Delás, a Barcelona native born in 1928 and exiled fom Spain since the late fifties, show us two strongly orchestral works of poetic title create during a period of two years, and demonstrate a considerable control of timbre and harmonic resources, with a terrific use of the sound blocks. From Manuel Hidalgo, born in Antequera in 1956, there is also a couple of scores with very similar attributes among them, but whose outcome is not so satisfactory as Delás'. Conductor Arturo Tamayo, champion of this century's music, knows how to obtain the best of each work, some of which may be enjoyed on the recording of his first public performance.
