David Arnold: THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH

After passing through different composers since John Barry left the series -among them the stupendous Michael Kamen of Licence to Kill (1989) -, there is no doubt that James Bond has found, finally, the perfect substitute in the figure of the British David Arnold, a young composer that after a first and also magnificent delivery with Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), has been able to join the typical musical essence of such a mythical film character (included the two basic themes that Barry created) with a more actual tone, mixing excellently the symphonically classic with the modern thing; themes as Come In 007, Your Time Is Up are a good example of that. Besides it, Arnold composes the stupendous and usual introductory song that Garbage performs (The World Is Not Enough). A spectacular pleasure. A.L.
