This modern revision of Cinderella's celebrated story receives, however, an unexpectedly classic score from the hands of one of the composers more in form nowadays. George Fenton had already demonstrated its tendency to the lyrical and romantic tone, with great orchestral participation, in good part of the rest of films in those that he had participated; works like In Love and War (1996) or A Handful of Dust (1988) showed his elegance and good melodic job. This way of making things has culminated in 1998 with two magnificent scores, the not very well-nown Dangerous Beauty and the one that occupies us, Ever After that benefits of some of the best melodies created by the English composer and of a tone between operatic and novelesque that, without a doubt, not only benefits the film but also the fairies' tale tone of the own musical work. There is even place for some reserved touches of music of the time (Going to the Ball) and a song performed by the group Texas (Put Your Arms Around Me), but most of the cues of the disk use original modes and ways highly moving, stupendously developed.
