Composer almost exclusively centered in the television world, with great quantity of solid and in general unknown scores, Don Davis has given a quantitative jump to the fame with this outpost and modern work, full of spectacular and dissonant sonorities, with an accented use of brass, percussion and electronics. Composer, orchestrator and conductor of it, the Californian Davis (born in 1957) seems specially involved, and some of his cues (although showing shadows of Bernard Herrmann or Howard Shore, or even the treatment of sound blocks so proper of Elliott Goldenthal) are particularly attractive: The Hotel Ambush or Anything is Possibleare a good example of it. Far are the times of his themes for television series as Hart to Hart (1979) or Beauty and the Beast (1987), and the good things showed in the television film The Beast (1996) appears increased in this work, his second collaboration with the Wachowski brothers after the stupendous thriller Bound(1996).
