John Williams:MIDWAY

One of John Williams' scarce scores posterior to the great success of Jaws (1975) without record edition, Midway (1976), a spectacular recreation of the crucial World War II battle, comes to fill an important hole in a crucial moment of the career of New York born composer. Located among The Eiger Sanction (1975), a splendid and little bit forgotten work, and the still unpublished in its entirety Family Plot (1976) -the last movie of the great Alfred Hitchcock-, only the energetic Midway March was available in some compilations; for it, and for the stupendous quality of the on the other hand not very extensive score, much more contained of what could be expected, this re-recording will allow the collectors to be completing the immense legacy that Williams has contributed to the History of the Cinema, an still unfinished legacy to which will be adding, without a doubt, new masterpieces.
