The duties and responsibilities of the Committee for Christian Education include the following:
- Oversee the spiritual feeding of every soul in the congregation. This involves the supervision of the Christian Day School, the Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, the Boy and Girl Pioneers and such additional groups and/or organizations as may come into being in the future.
- Maintain and oversee all educational and library materials.
- Meet periodically with the teachers and leaders of the educational programs to discuss problems and challenges.
- Submit regular reports and recommendations to the Voters' Assembly for improvement of the congregation's educational facilities and its educational agencies.
- Periodically visit the congregation's various educational agencies to monitor the achievement of the respective aims and purposes.
- Assist the teachers in their work wherever and whenever possible. If necessary, remind them of their duties and responsibilities.
- Maintain liaison and cooperation with the District and Synod Boards of Parish Education in all educational matters.
- Foster effective relationships between parents and teachers in the various educational agencies.
- Receive reports and recommendations from the Christian Day School Principal.
- Assume primary concern for the temporal welfare of the Christian Day School teachers.
- Appoint and advise the Sunday School Superintendent and receive reports from him.
- Provide the new confirmands with an appropriate confirmation gift.
