Information about the burial place of Sam and wife, Anna, was found by Frederick Jackson "Jack" Buckelew at Clayton Genealogy Library, TX, in books entitled "Our People and Where They Rest--Indian Cemeteries In The Old Cherokee Nation (Oklahoma).

On 25 August 1912 when Samuel Ray was 24, he married Annie Carrie Giyer, daughter of John Giyer & Rachel Walton, in Miami, Ottawa Co., OK. Born on 30 March 1894 in Afton, Ottawa Co., OK. Annie Carrie died in Afton, Ottawa Co., OK, on 21 December 1981; she was 87. Buried in Williams-Timberhill Cem., 4 mi. E of Welch; Craig Co., OK.
