Jonathan
Traphagen
1743 - 1807

onathan Traphagen was baptised May 28, 1743 in the Pompton Plains (New Jersey) Reformed
Dutch Church. He married Catherine Doremus September 23, 1770 at
Paramus Reformed Dutch Church. Catharine was born January 22, 1750 at Prekenis, New Jersey
and was baptised in the Paramus Dutch Church, the daughter of Abraham and Aeltjen (Tibout)
Doremus.
Jonathan served in the Essex County
Militia during the Revolution. He is listed on tax lists for Franklin township, Bergen
County, New Jersey but removed to Shawangunk township, Ulster County, New York by 1790. He
died in 1807 in Ulster County, New York, leaving a will.
