Some select highlight events of 2007

 

Ken tells with authentic and unique Caribbean stories, style  and technique"  Jim Hawkins, Irish American storyteller and teacher, Long island, NY

April  - St. Rose College, Albany, NY - Guest performer at the annual Caribbean Festival by the Students Association. 

April  - New Haven University, CT. Guest speaker/teller at the annual Caribbean Week festivities by the Caribbean Students Association. 

June - Toronto - Guyanese literary exposition.. 

August and October (Brooklyn and Washtington DC). Introduced the launching of GodFrey Chin's remarkable book of memories, NOSTALGIA with stories of growing up and living in Guyana during the 1940's to the 60's. 

September- Toronto - Artistic Director  for Michael Gilkes' remarkable one-man play THE LAST OF THE REDMEN for the producers, the Bishops High School and Queens College alumni. 

Nov 14th -22nd - Director of a storytelling workshop in thhe Cayman islands.

 November 23rd to Dec. 2nd.  Cayman islands ninth GIMISTORY festival in November. This year's (2007) American invitees were the creative husband and wife team of                        The Storycrafters  and  the Staten Island  teller         Bob   Basey a.k.a. Bobaloo                                                                                                  Dec. 3rd - 8th - Workshopping of Michael Gilkes' one-man pplay THE LAST OF THE REDMEN.                         Eugene Williams came in from Jamaica  (director of the Jamaica School of Drama), Henry Muttoo (artistic director of the Cayman Cultural Foundation), and I worked with Michael (flew in from London) to help him "universalise" his play. REDMEN has been successfully played in Guyana, Barbados, St.Lucia, Trinidad, Cayman and Toronto.                                  

My friend Ken Bahadur (Toronto) is now assisting me in getting this website updated and running.
