Why brew your own beer?

Different folks have different reasons, but usually high on every homebrewer's list is quality. ..it just taste better than what you buy from the store already bottled. One reason for the better flavor is because it is fresh and all-natural, no preservatives required. Another reason is because you can adjust the ingredients to get just the taste you desire. Large brewers are more concerned with insuring that every beer taste exactly the same. One of the best reasons for brewing your own beer is because you can make better tasting beer for a whole lot less than you pay in the store! Even if you use the more expensive malt extracts, you should still be able to brew for about $.25 per bottle of beer. Best of all, it only takes a few hours to brew and bottle a batch of your own world famous beer that will rival any Sam Adams.

The process is really quite simple, quality ingredients can be easily ordered through the mail, and the startup costs and equipment are minimal.

Here's some of my favorite recipes:

  • Holiday Cheer - this is my favorite dark brew...give it at least 3 months before really breaking into it .. 6 months is even better. Try it as Christmas beer...I'm still drinking it two years later and it only gets better !!
