Many CNC staff and students will join the rest of the nation when they head for the polling stations to cast their votes in Thursday's local and parliamentary elections. The six-week campaign draws to a close with Labour maintaining a strong lead in all but last week's rogue ICM poll which put their lead at just 5%. The majority of college members are expected to vote Labour. Principal Kevin C Quigley spoke against Conservative education reforms at last years' annual Leavers' Mass speech. Militant left-winger Tom Cahill revealed exclusively to ENN that Liberal Democrat policies were "more in-line" with his veiws than Labour's manifesto is. He intends to vote Labour, however, because his priority is "to get rid of the Tories." RS chief Anthony Finnerty refused to comment on his voting intentions to ENN but it is widely expected he will vote Labour or Liberal Democrat.
