SUMMER SHORTS

CNC chaplain Fr. Mike Murphy has recently been appointed as Parish Priest of St. Augustine's. The present PP, Fr. Peter Foulkes will move to a new post in Cumbria. Mike will remain chaplain of the college and will be assisted at St. Augustine's by another priest. Further details will be announced shortly and ENN will keep you informed. It's Mike's first post as a PP after 19 years in the priesthood.

More news of staff comings and goings - Lindsay Smith and Jackie Fowler will continue to work at the college but will no longer be employed by it. Manwhile, Barbara Morrison (Child Studies), Mark Oldham (Science) and Jenny Martin (Performing Arts) are also leaving along with Vanessa Coleman (Graphic Designer) and Tony Holroyd (Network Manager). Limelights will present a tribute to outgoing caretakers Jean and Tom Seed on Monday 14th July at 7.30pm in the college.

RS teacher Tom Cahill has once again threatened to sue Ex-Newman News if we print some of his comments. He claimed that he would be in contact with his solicitor, George Carman QC, if we printed some of his predictions for the forthcoming staff-student football match. Having sought legal advice and having been advised to "publish and be damned", we have decided to print some of his comments on page 2.
