FR. MIKE QUITS AS CNC CHAPLAIN

Fr. Michael Murphy has resigned as chaplain of CNC after nearly four years in the job. Fr. Mike was appointed Parish Priest of St. Augustine's church last August when the then PP, Fr. Peter Foulkes, moved to Seascale. It is understood that Mike felt unable to devote enough time to both jobs, so he decided to resign from the chaplaincy to concentrate on Parish work.

Fr. John Convery, a Xaverian missionary who lives in Preston, has been appointed as Mike's replacement. The Xaverians have had connections with the college before. Fr. Jim Clarke, formerly of the community, was a regular visitor to the college during his time in Preston. He recently moved to a Xaverian community in Glasgow, where a group of CNC students recently stayed during a retreat with RS chief Mr. Finnerty.
