CNC Logo "Shoes on table" cause play delay

CNC's Limelights Theatre Company had to postpone the final performance of its latest play, Lysistrata, last week, after a power cut affected the college's electricity supply. The play, a comedy directed by Performing Arts assistant Bernadette Smith, was scheduled to take place on Wednesday and Thursday, 29th-30th April. Although the first night's performance went ahead successfully, a power cut affected parts of Avenham, including CNC, during the day on Thursday. It was decided that the play should be postponed as it was unclear whether power would be restored in time.

Sources in Limelights said that the delay was the result of a member of the cast placing new shoes on a table - traditionally a cause of bad luck - before the performance. The second night was rescheduled to occur the following Tuesday, 5th May.
