Dear readers, here's a chance to re-live some of the moments of the last twelve months, as reported in ENN. A chance also to remember how we reported the big stories of the year - whether hand- written or worldwide on the web. Enjoy!Issue 1 (5/11/96): The ‘magazine' for ex-students - wherever they live. FIRST EDITION contained quotes of the fortnight, including "You always have to quote me exactly, don't you Andrew?" from Fr. Mike. Features included Ye Olde CNC - a look back at previous years, song of the fortnight and a note from the Editor, which stated "there should be another one soon - if I can be bothered." We also began the reunion countdown, although, in our first gaffe, we forgot to say how many days there were to go!
Issue 2 (19/11/96): News and nostalgia from the Great North West. FIRST NEWS - earthquake in Peru, scandal at Cambridge and a one-day strike at universities in the UK. Also included FIRST PHOTOS, including Lucy, Bernie, Mike and the Editor.
Issue 3 (6/12/96): Education and Entertainment from CNC. FIRST EXCLUSIVE: Tom & Tony off to Algeria? News - Mike writes to Bernie at last. IMPROVED PRINT QUALITY, warning on Pirate copies, and Mr. Warren quoted as saying "I'll b****r off then." First issue to be received by Tom & Mr. F.
Issue 4 (13/12/96): Prepare to reunite on Tuesday night. REUNION PREVIEW EDITION. First proper college logo; Exclusive: Mike spends night in hospital. Also includes CNC 12 days of Christmas - the first day was ‘a portrait of Mr. Finnerty'.
Issue 5 (10/1/97): New Year, New Ideas, New Format. FIRST PRINTED EDITION; FIRS WEBSITE EDITION. Reunion review, FIRST COMMENT. Exclusive: Tom admits being a former Tory. We knight Mike and Leo, and Slade tops ENN's Christmas chart.
Issue 6 (24/1/97): From the college of newfound fame. LIMELIGHTGATE STORY BREAKS - Limelights in national press; stop press - public performances cancelled. ENN's comment defends play and college. Fat Ginger gets win Birley Arms pub quiz, and Tom Cahill threatens to sue ENN
Issue 7 (7/2/97): Making a drama out of a crisis (and vice-versa). ‘The Mysteries' goes on behind closed doors; first picture of Bernie in Peru; college site is 200 years old. We also publish our mission statement and mark the first anniversary of Rome ‘96.
