First sports coverage - college in last 16 of national football cup. Leo Warren, who becomes the first person to be mentioned in the title bar, describes ENN as ‘subversive'.Issue 9 (7/3/97): Big Breaking the news from CNC. New readers include Mr. Warren, and we finally publish the quiz answers - well, most of them. Mr. Wood makes a few omissions!
Issue 10 (14/3/97): A bizarre cocktail of fact, fiction and fun. The only single-page issue, which claimed that Mike had given up alcohol and cigarettes.
Issue 11 (1/5/97): Hello, Hello, it's good to be back. Back after Easter with good news - CNC are national football champions. Issue is published on Election day and includes preview supplement. Cheryl quits as double-glazing saleswoman.
Issue 12 (28/5/97): To Mr Finnerty and beyond. Tories thank ENN for sympathy card, and Sr. Kate announces that she's leaving the college. This issue is the biggest (7 A4 sheets) and most critically acclaimed (meriting a ‘bravo' from Mr. F) to date. ENN2: ELECTION ‘97 praises the BBC and welcomes the result. Kevin wins the CNC mock election, with Tom 2nd. ENN3: SPORT reviews the big day at West Bromwich Albion, with reports and pictures. Also includes a report on Phil Bates's run in the London Marathon, which was later used in the college's official publication, Newman News.
Issue 13 (25/6/97): The best things in life are free. New Tory leader William Hague writes to ENN, and Cheryls former boyfriend stood as a PPC in Hull.
Issue 14 (10/7/97): It's ‘way cool', and so say all of U.S. ENN website is discovered by an American, who describes it as ‘way cool'; Mike is made Parish Priest of St. Augustine's, and we have a pictorial special exclusive on the staff do at St. Augustine's.
Issue 15 (26/8/97): Putting the ex-student first. CNC beats national average in A- Level results, students win annual staff-student football match 5-2, and farewell to Jean and Tom Seed - Limelights style.
Issue 16 (12/11/97): Strictly no dealings with the papparazzi. ENN is back for another year with a special birthday supplement on the anniversary of the first issue.
