Searsport defeated Bucksport, 2-1, in dramatic fassion at home, when Kelsey Walsh scored with just 10 seconds to go in the game. On a pass from Jessica Wilson, who had just been visciously dumped, Walsh drilled the ball into the net. Wilson had to be helped off the field with a strained knee. Wilson had gotten the Vikings off to a good start in the first quarter when she scored off a corner kick. Goalies Jessica Carroll and Mo Hall combined on 9 saves. Katey Baldus, Nicole Shute, and Sheila Wilbur were exceptionally strong in the backfield.
Searsport recorded a come-from-behind victory over 0-8 Union, Friday, by scoring 3 second half goals. Jessica Wilson scored all three goals for the Vikings, one of them coming unassisted off a corner kick. Front-line play was dominated by Wilson, Coleen Narofsky, Shanna Murphy, Kelsey Walsh, Jenna Chaney, Megan Ricthie, and Tasha Zito.
Searsport dominated Rockland from the start in their 4-1 victory. Jessica Wilson got things started with an early first quarter goal off a pass from Shanna Murphy. In the second quarter, Wilson connected on a penalty shot. Early in the fourth, Rockland scored, cutting the lead to 2 to 1. Searsport immediately answered with a third Wilson goal, giving her the hat-trick. Kelsey Walsh topped things off with a goal of her own, late in the fourth quarter. Searsport outshot Rockland, 18-7. Sheila Wilbur, Katey Baldus, and Nicole Shute were keys to the defense, while Jennifer Cook, Sarah Cook, Abby Tripp, Rachel Curtis, and Lucienne Merrill controled play at the midfield.
Seasport defeated Camden 1-0 in a deceivingly close score, here on Monday. Despite outshooting their opponents by a 19-6 margin, Searsport could only manage a single goal, by Jessica Wilson, in a game that left the Searsport team scratching their heads. But they vowed as a group to put that game behind them, and come out strong against Rockland the next day.
